ARIT Poster Session 2018 at the annual Austrian Research and Innovation Talk (ARIT)

Call Details

Austrian researchers, scientists, scholars, students, and innovators conducting research in North America are encouraged to submit their high-quality posters from all scientific fields for evaluation. Posters must be submitted in accordance with the poster template, and be submitted as a .pdf file according to submission requirements.

Evaluation criteria are scientific quality, significance to the respective scientific field, as well as structure and clarity of the presented poster.

The ten (10) posters that fulfill these criteria best will be selected by an expert selection committee of the Austrian Science Fund. These posters will be presented during the ARIT Poster Session, and are eligible for consideration for the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation Poster Award.

If selected, authors are responsible for printing their poster in the format 6ft x 4ft and for transporting their poster to Washington, DC. Installation of the posters by their authors is scheduled during the hours of 7:45 am and 8:30 am on December 8, 2018, at the Knight Conference Center at the Newseum in Washington, DC. Easels for display will be provided by the ARIT organizers.

The author of one of the ten selected poster to be showcased at ARIT agrees to …

  • print their poster in accordance with the poster template and the format 6ft x 4ft.
  • transport their poster to/from the ARIT 2018 at their own risk and expense.
  • pitch their poster in person during a 60-second pitching session during ARIT 2018.
  • present their poster in person as part of the ARIT 2018 poster session.
  • remove and provide for the return of his/her poster at his/her own risk and expense.
  • assume all risk of damage to or loss of their own poster and/or equipment from whatever cause.
  • grant permission to the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation, the Austrian Science Fund, OSTA Washington, and ARIT collaboration partners to reproduce his/her name, information describing his/her poster, and any other information he/she has provided for the purpose of display, promotion and publicity either now or in the future.


Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation Poster Award

The Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation is sponsoring three to honor posters from all scientific fields presented during the ARIT 2018 poster session: Prizes awarded amount to

  • EUR 3,000.—
  • EUR 2,000.—
  • EUR 1,000.—
  • for the winner and runner-ups, respectively

At the ARIT 2018, an independent jury/panel of experts of Austrian academic leaders, the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation, the Austrian Science Fund (FWF), OSTA Washington, and members of the ARIT audience will select the three winners based on

  • scientific quality
  • significance to the respective scientific field
  • structure and clarity of the presented poster.
  • The three winners of the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation Poster Award will be announced at the conclusion of the ARIT Poster Session at 4:00 pm on Saturday, December 8, 2018.

Authors of the featured posters are strongly encouraged to be available in person at the time of the presentation of the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation Poster Award.

Please submit your poster as .pdf file based on the formal ARIT 2018 poster template via Email to rina@ostaustria.org by Wednesday, August 15, 2018, 11:59 pm EST. Any other form of submission, as well as submissions after this deadline, cannot be accepted.

Austrian researchers, scientists, scholars, students, and innovators conducting research in North America who have submitted their poster for evaluation are encouraged to register early for ARIT 2018.

Rules and regulations are subject to change by the organizers of the ARIT Poster Session and the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation Poster Award.
