Dr. Bernhard Ganglmair received a diploma in Business and Economics (MA equivalent) from the University of Linz in Austria in 2004 and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Zurich in Switzerland in 2010. He spent three years (2004-2007) at the Bonn Graduate School of Economics at the University of Bonn in Germany and one semester (Spring 2006) at Columbia University, School of Law, as visiting researcher. From 2008 to 2010 he was Research Associate at the Institute for Empirical Research in Economics at the University of Zurich; from 2007 to 2010 he was Non-Resident Research Affiliate at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) in Bonn; in 2009 and 2010 he visited the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich), Chair of Intellectual Property. Bernhard’s main research interests lie in the law and economics of contracts (in particular the rules of termination of supply and procurement contracts), antitrust, and intellectual property (in particular the disclosure rules of intellectual property in standard setting organizations and the effects of antitrust law).
