Martin Humenberger earned his Master's degree in engineering at the Upper Austrian University of Applied Science Hagenberg in 2004. He finished his Ph.D. studies in Electrical Engineering at the Vienna University of Technology in 2011 with distinction. His PhD thesis is entitled “Real-Time Stereo Matching for Embedded Systems in Robotic Applications”. He joined AIT Austrian Institute of Technology in 2003, first as research fellow and now as Senior Scientist. In 2013, he spent a year at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory as Caltech Postdoctoral Scholar. He is author of more than 40 publications. His research focuses on visual 3D reconstruction (monocular and stereo vision) and navigation for autonomous vehicles, advanced driver assistance systems, and UAVs.
